Ad de Jong (1953, Breda) is a sculptor and lives and works in Amsterdam. After studying sculpture at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam he went on to explore the visual possibilities of performance, punk rock, film and large-scale installations.

With his transparent, colourful and futuristic sculptures and installations De Jong attempts to develop a new art (world) for the future, and employs visual language as his source of information. 'Art is in the first place an outcome of production', he says. In 2007 he published a 250-page artist book entitled: 'Start A New Art World'.His large sculpture bearing the same name has been acquired by museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam. His work is represented by Galerie BIN YIP in Amsterdam.

He is one of the co-founders and the first artistic director of the well-known W139 artist space in Amsterdam.
